Establishing a Godly Rhythm of Life

AUTUMN! My favorite of the four seasons. Warm days, cool nights, changing leaves and the aroma of pumpkin spice in the air! Among the many reasons I like fall is the rhythm and routine that fall and school/work schedules bring into our lives. I trust that part of your rhythm and routine is to schedule a daily time reading God’s Word and praying. Time alone with God is the lifeline of our relationship with Him. Imagine what our relationship would be with our spouse, family, significant other or friends if we did not spend time in daily communication with them.

While corporate worship together as the body of Christ is important, our daily time with God is essential. As we continue with our topical study on spiritual warfare and the strategy of Satan, we discovered recently that distraction is one of Satan’s subtle strategies. He will do everything in his power to keep us from an intimate relationship with God.

I trust that you have already committed to and established time alone with God as part of your daily routine. Remember Jesus’ words to Mary’s sister, Martha in
Luke 10:41 & 42 – “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her”.

In the busyness of life … choose well!
